Error "Partial results are valid but processing is incomplete"

Salu!

The above error started happening a few days ago with one of our BDB based
repositories. The exact error is

| svnadmin: Can't read directory entry in
| '/home/svnserve/repos/external/db': Partial results are valid but
| processing is incomplete
| svnadmin: Can't open file '/home/svnserve/tmp/external/format':
| No such file or directory

and happens during a hotcopy that is done before backup. The strace is rather
unspectacular, there are no failed systemcalls before this error is produced.
The system is running Debian with a Linux 2.6.8 kernel and Subversion 1.2.3.
We can still dump this repository and load it into another. This other
repository doesn't show these signs, just like other repositories don't. I'd
just load it into a new one, but I'd like to know what's going on there and
whether I'll have to fear some kind of creeping corruption.

Some websearching turned up that this is an error generated in the APR,
specifically APR_INCOMPLETE. Its description says "The operation was
incomplete although some processing was performed and the results are
partially valid."

Uli
