There are more drawbacks. IMO localization of SVN messages was not one of
the best ideas.

You know about the LC_* environment variables?

If you don't want to change it, try to rename the locale directory of
subversion. If it complains, create an empty locale directory.


"Ceterum censeo" the list software should set the Reply-To: to the
list address.
