Version string / Id, Revision

Hello,

I am quit new to subversion but it works fine so far.
Now I have the following problem.
I am using a version string in my software. It will be printed by the monitor
program so you always should now which revision it is. But it does not work,
when the file where the version string is located in hasn'nt changed. This is
because the svn Revision keyword is on a file base not on thr Rep. base. So
it will only be updated when the file changes.

Has anyone an Idea to get the Repository version into an version string
without changing the file where it is located in, manualy ?

Thanks for the help
Reinhard
