subversion server --- software upgrade

From: Çağatay Çatal <cagatay.catal_at_bte.mam.gov.tr>

Hi,

I want to upgrade the version of "Subversion server" because current version

does not support locking mechanism and developers need to lock some files
while working.

I want to ask some questions about this task because I do not want to lose
any data on the server.

1-) If I install the new version of Subversion server to the server machine,
do I lose old data?

(I do not want to back up any data.)

Does subversion provide such a mechanism?

2-) Do I have to restart the server for this process?

3-) How can I back up the data easily and make it as an scheduled task?

(Do I have to write some scripts? )

Thank you for your kind interest and help.

Best wishes,
