svn client error on Windowx XP

Hello Ryan
Sorry about this new email, but I wanted to give you this information
also. I upgraded our svn client from 1.2.3 to 1.3 and then ran the 4
concurrent checkouts on a Windows 2003 XP server with Cygwin. And I get
a similar error which is bolded in blue below. I am hoping your team can
figure out why it is happening.

Even if I come to know that you have figured out this problem and the fix
will be available in a future release, that will be a great relief.
Otherwise, the problem is really bothering us especially since we have
such good resources and are not able to use such a simple operation.

Sincerely
Narayan

Hi Ryan
I tried turning off the virus scanner. It still would not work. One
thing I did not mention is that I am using Cygwin on top of Windows and not native windows. Does that give you any clue as
to why the error happened? I am pasting the errors of 4 concurrent svn
exports on a cygwin platform on Windows 2003 XP server. I am checking out
4 different copies.

Can you guys look into the client code for error messages like "Can't
close....: Resource unavailable". That could tell you why this is
happening. Will appreciate any help.

Narayan

hello ryan
i will try as you suggested. there is one more problem that i am
experiencing with my windows client.

If I do only 1 export, I almost always get one error
svn: Write error

in the error file. I am capturing all the files checked out in a log
file. I see some files not listed, but the files do get checked out. My
question is, what is this svn write error? Does svn retry on error? Is
that why the files were still checked out?

Thanks much
Narayan

Is a virus scanner running on the Windows box, holding the files open
immediately after Subversion creates them? This has been known to
cause problems for others in the past. Try turning of the virus
scanner for a moment and see if it works better.
