AIX 5.2 python bindings problem

I am trying to get the python bindings working in AIX 5.2. I've
installed subversion 1.30, swig 1.3.27 (I've also tried 1.3.25), and
Python 2.4.2. When I try import svn.core or libsvn.core, I get a
message similar to:

Fatal Python Error: Interpreter not initialized ( version mismatch )

I also get a core dump. I really need to get the python interface logic
working - everything else with subversion seems to be working well so
far. I've imported my cvs history using Tailor. The DAV access seems
to be working well also. If anyone has any ideas what I need to do or
try to get this debugged or working, please let me know.
