svn:keywords - no substitution [Virus checked]

Hi there,

I tried to use the keyword substitution in a html file
As described in the subversion book I filled in a line 'changed at $Date$'.
Furthermore I set the svn:keywords property to "Date" (both using
TortoiseSVN
After a commit a check on the repository server responds "Date" as existing
svn:keywords property content.

After an additional change of the html file the keyword $Date$ has not been
substituted.

According to the description nothing else should be necessary.

Is that correct?
Is there any other precondition for the keyword substitution I do not know
(or I did not read ;-) ?
