Can't write to connection. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Hi Everybody

I am getting this fatal error: "Can't write to connection. An existing
connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" when I try to do a
check out or commit. It does not happen all the time. Only
intermittently.
I'm using subversion over openvpn, but it is not the openvpn's fault as
I can still copy files over the vpn using ftp or simply Windows copy
when the svn error occurs.

I'm using Subversion 1.2 on Freebsd 5.4.

Can anybody help with this error?

Is there a timeout or keepalive parameter in subversion? I am not
running http. I am running svn-ra.

Thank you very much in anticipation.
