Yeah, mailing lists archives. Long time I didn't beleived it is possible this feature is missing :)
I don't know how much effect this voting system has, but it is a hope at least :). For now, this is (almost) my only problem with svn, everything is great but this issue is driving me nuts and now half of my projects are hardlinked because of it.

As stated somewhere on the site - SVN's goal is not to incorporate all good features from other version control systems, but rather replace CVS. Well, CVS *has* such a feature so I hope it'll show up in SVN too :)
