Preserving newline at the end of files

Hello,

I noticed that after performing svn update on my C++ files, all of them
do not longer end with a newline (LF in that case). This results in ugly
compiler warnings for every file.

I can't believe, that this is a wanted/standard behavior of subversion
which can't be cured, because it is kinda annoying. So what am I doing
wrong? How can I preserve the newline at the end of my files?

regards,
