Karl,
I figured such reasons were behind the decision, and I can certainly
filter on other fields. Just wanted to let you know that my usage
patterns lead me to value different things: I dump everything into my
Inbox, and only filter it later. I really like being able to visually
skip over mailing list messages, both in my Inbox and when searching
saved messages. And I have a wide monitor, so a slightly longer subject
line doesn't matter to me. Other users probably have different
opinions, and most other mailing lists I am aware of do tag subject
lines, so it's probably worth checking if the current policy is helpful
or annoying to the majority of readers. (I run a mailing list that
prefixes "[Continuous-testing-plugin-discuss]" onto each subject line,
and have never heard a complaint.)
Thanks for the quick response,
David Saff
