Freature "Request" - file-based svn:external

I know - I have no rights to request, but you know, it would be nice to have
a feature as stated above

I'm currently developing several Projects with Java, and I like Subversion and
the integration with Eclipse, DAV, etc very much! Thanks for the excellent job so far!

Maybe I don't know, how to do it properly, but from time to time, I'm running into troubles
while using svn:external!!!

For Example!

I'm using hibernate3, so I have the exploded hibernate3/lib under versioncontrol in a central
library-framework repository,

but there are so many .jar files I don't need (optional features), which I want to exclude from
my projects /lib directory ...

any hints are welcome!
