Maybe I misread Scotts and Roberts explanations, but they basically boil down
to the same explanation given me, don't they ? log tells you the log message
of certain revisions (fenceposts), diff tells you what changed *between*
revisions (the space between fenceposts). But yes, it's not an "error".

Yes, thnx... had to reboot and forgot to start NTP.
