regression? 'svn export' on wc with externals

This does not descend into svn:externals:

         svn export wc-path exported_from_wc

while this does:

         svn export URL exported_from url

The first method used to work, not sure what version I was using before
(maybe v1.1?). My current svn version is:

svn, version 1.2.1 (r15230)
    compiled Jul 14 2005, 17:35:19
