svn status -u fails in 1.2.1

I have a repo on a linux box, clients are on both linux and windows.
So far we used status -u (--show-updates) which worked fine until now:

C:\Temp\svn-win32-1.2.0\bin\svn status -u
? inixplugin\libsinco.pdb
etc, works ok

C:\Temp\svn-win32-1.2.1\bin\svn status -u
svn: REPORT Anfrage fehlgeschlagen auf 'https://indel.dyndns.org/svn/customer/win32/indelroot/trunk'
svn: REPORT von 'https://indel.dyndns.org/svn/customer/win32/indelroot/trunk': 501 Method Not Implemented (https://indel.dyndns.org)

Is this a known problem? The svn on the server is a 1.x version (don't know
exactly but can look it up) but from the online docs this should work
without a problem.
