On our linux box, a repository that is more than 1GB (don't know exact
number of files, but it is in tens of thousands) takes about 45
minutes to checkout. Similar numbers for update and this number is
fairly typical with most of the subversion users, I think.
So, if it takes 10 minutes to update 20 files, I think there is
something else in your setup that is not right. (or each file is a
humungous binary file or something)
