I feel for 'ya, dude. What a mess.

As far as I know, ClearCase does not have a specific import from SVN script. Doubt they care much about open source competitors.

However, they did have (a few years ago when I admined CC) a flat file import utility that worked pretty well. We had a similar problem with a repository for PVCS (they didn't have an import script at the time.) What we ended up doing was pulling code trees at all our milestones (labels) as a flat file scructure, and importing them one at a time, labelling them along the way. It wasn't as big of a pain as you'd think, just a little tedious.

<sarcasm> But call Rational/IBM. I'm sure they'd be happy to let you pay a consultant to write the script, then keep rights to it and sell it to other customers, all on your dime.</sarcasm>

In case you don't already know, ClearCase is a beast. Since you're new to it, if you have to do more than simply this one import, I'd seriously suggest your manager pays for some training for you.

Subject: Convert from Subversion to ClearCase

Hi,

My project manager droped a minor bomb on me today when he demanded that I
move the source code for my current project from Subversion to ClearCase. So
the question is: Can this be done while keeping all of the revision history,
etc? Or should I just create a new repository (or whatever it is called in
ClearCase) using the lastest version of the code?

I might add that I have never worked with ClearCase before and I have only
used Subversion as an end-user (as opposed to being an administrator).

Best regards
