low traffic rate

Hallo,

I have a folder structure with over 40.000 files. Most of them are very
small (about 2KB).

When I do an import I recognize, that the traffic rate in the windows task
manager is most of the time about 1%.

My client is Win XP with svn 1.2

My server is Win 2003 Raid 5 and svn 1.2 and apache.

Does the http protocol make a roundtrip for every file?

Has anybody experience with such large imports and checkouts?
