That may appear true but it just makes me nervous that some of the
tests fail with 4.0 and not with 3.3. With my configure settings, I
have no build problems with 3.3 or 4.0 but one (at last check) of the
self tests fails (with a bus error) for the 4.0 build. That gives me
the willies. :-)

As Ben has suggested in other threads, running one of the failing
tests manually may shed some light on the problem since you get more
logging output that way.
