Relocate Problem

SubVersion,

We are currently using SubVerison version 1.1.4 with Tortoise version
1.1.7 running on Windows XP service pact 2.

We recently restructured our repository and moved certain sub
repositories to a different area and also modified the project_name at the
same time.

 The original structure was:

   http://server/svn/project_name/project_dir/repo_name/branches/br_1
<http://server/svn/project_name/project_dir/repo_name/branches/br_1>

The new structure is:

http://server/svn/new_project_name/project_dir/repo_name/branches/new_dir/br
_1
<http://server/svn/new_project_name/project_dir/repo_name/branches/new_dir/b
r_1>

When we tried to relocate the local branches to the new location using the
TortoiseSVN Relocate or the SVN switch -relocate command, we got the
following error.

            Report request failed on
'/svn/new_name1/type1/name2/!svn/vcc/default'

Cannot replace a directory from within

Our only recourse was to save off our work and checkout the data from the
new location and reapply our uncommitted changes. Can you help us find out

why the relocate did not work? Is it because there was no longer a from
location? Is it that we changed project_name to new_project_name?
