I apologize, I've not been following closely -- only skimming. My
brain is full with other design discussions right now.

If you really want to push this to the "next level", I recommend you
restart the thread on the dev@ list, and get all the developers
involved. It's cool to see so many users debate design, but it's not
going to happen unless you get the whole developer community
involved. If participants in this email list have managed to
consensus on a proposal, bring it on over.
