svn co pulls down hooks, db, etc from inside repo?

Hi there,

I'm running subversion 1.1.4 on Windows, via Apache and mod_dav_svn
and as of last night, something odd changed. When I did an svn update
this morning, the update pulled down the hooks, db and other
directories located inside my fsfs-based repository. This is quite
disconcerting and I'm curious what caused this to happen. Any
thoughts on where I should look to start figuring out what is going
on?
