Recommended Subversion server hardware

I wonder what is the recommended server hardware for a busy Subversion server ?
It will have many repositories and hundreds of users.
I know, the bigger the better but what is the usual bottleneck for a
SVN server ?
CPU ? Memory ? Disk access (IDE or SCSI ?)

e.g. if the trade-off is 1.7 GHz CPU + 256 Mb memory or 1GHz CPU + 512 Mb memory
which one is preferable ?
