large files and slow network

Hello,

I have some large files (200MB textfiles) i want to checkin in the
subversion system. But my network connection is real slow - is there a way
not to transfer the whole file each time I checkin?

This might be a silly question because I am new to subversion - but I did
not find anything in the documentation/book.
