web folder no versioning

Hi, I have configured the subversion + mod_svn to work under webfolder, the access from web folder or netdrive seems to be fine. However, changes of the file is not being stored under version control, when I access the repository by svn, the log indicates that due to the client does not support versioning, the file is not versioned at all. Does anyone know that if there is any way to work around, or, any better gui based client to achieve file edit and save on the fly and be versioned at same time?
