Subversion isn't very good in handling these kinds of conflicts
(renaming or deleting files while other people change it). I started a
discussion about this in the dev-mailing list recently, because I have
the same problem. The discussion stopped, because they said that they
haven't had this problem during their development, so it's not important.

I think, it's a major problem, especially if one claims to be better
than CVS.

When you copy and change files in parallel, then you're on your own in
every revision control system I know. I thinks that's right, because you
create a copy to have two independent versions. Otherwise you would move
the file or create a link (which should be possible with Subversion).

Your "cat" problem: Not all Subversion commands handle moves/renames in
all situations right.
