Jason,

I wouldn't recommend disabling your Anti-Virus software altogether.
Especially on a micro$oft box.

But most major anti-virus programs will allow exception rules. So just
tell the anti-virus to not scan your repository.

I've seen anti-virus programs create locks on other databases as well,
so that made a lot of sense to me.
