This is a general problem with CENTRALIZED SCM like CVS or
Subversion. Since there is, by definition, one and only one
authoritative repository, the WHERE is always this repository.

DECENTRALIZED SCM like darcs or monotone do it differently and you
have the WHERE. Here, with darcs, you can see my different identities,
reflecting different machines:

% darcs changes | more

Wed Jan 5 22:28:04 CET 2005 stephane@fetiche.sources.org
  * Fix bug #5621

Mon Jan 3 14:02:32 CET 2005 bortzmeyer@batilda.nic.fr
  * At last, XML output

Of course, DECENTRALIZED SCM have other issues and this may not be the
best place to discuss it.
