On a desktop's 200GB IDE disk this is true. But when you go to
enterprise-level redundant storage (where repositories are wont to live)
that price goes up significantly. Expensive disks, RAID, backups, time
for backups, offsite storage -- it all adds up. There is a definite
cost to maintaining data, not just initially buying the raw disk space.
