I was hoping to use a single script and config to handle all the
repositories. The path to the repository is passed to mailer.py, so in
principle it could report the last directory component of that.

I see that if no config file is specified, the script will look in
repos_dir/conf/mailer.conf. Is there perhaps some way of having that config
file include a common one for defaults and just set the prefix? Can the
config file do something dynamic like determine the repos_dir it's being
used with and convert it to a name? (I'm not familiar enough with Python to
know immediately how hard that is to do.)
