vss2svn , error ssdir not defined !!!!

Trying to migrate vss to svn with the perl scipt vss2svn.pl I encounter
the following error:

$SSDIR not defined.

Unless I have defined my ssdir.

ssdir.bat contains ss dir "$?supplier" -r -ossdir.$$$

ssdir.$$$ contains $/supplier:
                               -supplie.mdb
                                  supplier.mdb
                                   2 items

ssdir.txt contains Analysis of source safe project $/supplier
                                    2 [ ] : $/supplier
                                    2 files 1 project.

To run the script I type :

> perl vss2svn.pl --vssrepos $/vss_ann_test/supplier
--svnrepo http:// "my URL"

what is the problem with my SSDIR ?????????
