I love automating builds. I live in Windows and dabble in Linux.
I have tried compiling open source stuff (not svn) on Windows previously
and given up when, in every case I tried, it called for VS.
I have no intention of installing VS for various reasons and never did
chase down cygwin which I saw as yet another project which got in the
way of whatever I had to do at the time.
I have always found it easier to get on with other pressing tasks while
waiting for the binaries (generic thanks to all os gurus) but now I
might have a slash at it.
