subversion repository checkout slow

Dear all:
    I checkout the sources from repository is very slowly. My subversion
is 1.1.3.
I think that some DB file can't read , but I haven't receive any warning
or error messages
when I checkout through apache or file protocol.
    Any body have some suggestions?
