WAY OT: Apache Portable Runtime sample/example code

I apologize profusely for even asking this question on this list, but
I'm running out of ideas for google queries...
 
Since I know that SVN uses APR for it's portability, I'm hoping someone
here can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for sample or
example code, or even better yet, a tutorial on using APR. My main
reason for wanting to use APR is portable multi-threading and sockets
communications, so (something simple) along those lines would be ideal.
