That's the extremely detailed locking spec. For the "cliff notes"
compressed summary of the locking feature, see the 1.2 releasenotes

As I said in the other email, we hope to have a first 1.2-rc1 tarball
released on Monday. And yes, it would be great for people to test it
hard! Assuming no huge problems are found, the final 1.2 will be
released 4 weeks after Monday.
