Tags and History

Hello,
I am currently revewing different source control systems for my next project. Subversion interests me but the Tag functionality
implementation concerns me:

Since a tag is actually a copy, does this mean that I will not see tags when I view file history?
Is there a list of tags? How do I access a tag if I don't remember its name?
