Hello Daniel,

That's the direction I'm looking into. I am using rsync now to backup
my repositories, but I would like to use hot-backup.

What is weird is the smb connection hangs even when I copy a file to
the smb directory and when run bzip2 on it.

I'll take a look at the kernel log and see what there...
