Interesting about $CVS_SERVER, thanks for the correction. It's been a
long time
since I've used CVS. :-)
1) sshd is not responsible for setting the environment, your shell is.
sshd executes
svnserve via your shell.
2) You have to be wondering how in the world the rest of us are doing
this...
3) Aha, from 'man sshd'.
Environment processing is
disabled by
default and is controlled via the PermitUserEnvironment
option.
