Yes, and I've wrongly referred to it as a RedBook once too. I keep
getting all these wonderful online books swapped around in my head. But
it's intended as a compliment, really. They're all extremely
well-written and deeply appreciated.

Erm. Well, I went and tried to repeat the behavior, and now of course I
cannot. So I must have been in error. Fiddlesticks.

(Oh, I see my error now: I had observed that "svn update" *does* descend
into externals correctly (yay!), and thought that I had seen commits do
the same.)

So I guess just cancel that post, and count it as another vote that
externals continue to receive the attention and care of Subversion's
development team. (Recursive commits, persistent connections, and
relative URLs all being highly desirable.)

Thank you for straightening me out :-)
