No, I haven't. In response on a question of Karl asking for
clarifications, I did some further analysis, posted the results and a
reproduction recipe on the mailing list, but then the conversation
stopped. I didn't want to wine about a problem that apparently only I
was encountering, so I did not reply asking for any follow up.

I was rather interested when the problem was mentioned by another
user, and I was just waiting to see a solution. One solution already
has been mentioned though: "make the error message more clear".
