(Sorry about the slow reply - I'm on vacation and at the end of a very
slow dialup link!)

I've passed your query onto the book's publisher. I'm not 100% sure what
the answer will be -- I have a feeling the PDF is one of the reasons
you'd buy the book from PragmaticProgrammer.com instead of (say) Amazon,
hence the current license.
