svn design specification

I copies this text from the HACKING file:

   * Print out and digest the Subversion design specification.
      This document can be found in the "Documents & files" area of the
      website in the Documentation->Design folder. A PDF and an HTML
      version are available on the web. The design spec will give you
      a theoretical overview of Subversion's design.

Does this document acutally exist? When I go to the web site the only folder
within "Documenation" is called "Releases". Both "Releases" and
"Documentation" are otherwise empty.

"subversion wasn't designed to do that" and "that's not the model that
subversion supports" are fairly frequent answers to questions on this list.
I am hoping there is some document that describes the model subversion was
intended to support.

Is there anything out there like this?
