Thank you David, this was a very helpful reply. I did try -N before I
posted, but it didn't seem to work. Very, very disappointing, and I'm
very glad to see that it doesn't work only because I'm new to it -- that
it is actually broken.

Where are changes like this announced? When it gets fixed, how will I
know? Just look at the release notes for new versions? Or some other way?
