I'm sorry if I'm bringing up something that's been asked before, but I
had problems with the mailing list archive and archive search.
Let' me explain what I mean by the subject line. The subversion mantra
seems to be that hard drive space is cheap, but bandwidth isn't, which
is OK for most things. However, in my projects I have some rather large
directories (>500MB), which balloon up to >1GB with the local .svn
cache copies. These directories are made up of images which I _do_ want
to keep under version control, but they are so rarely updated that I
really don't need any local cache of the files.
On a regular workstation, having multi-gig project folders aren't
really a problem, but on a laptop it quickly becomes a problem. The
feature that I'd like to see, is a property that can be set in order to
force svn to not download the .svn cache (text-base, i think) and to
instead get the file from the server every time it's needed. Is this
currently possible, or maybe something that's in planning?
Also, if someone thinks this is a bad idea, it would be nice with an
explanation of why.

PS! I know I can "hack" a solution around this limitation, but it will
be a lot of work.
