Thanks, Jacob. Your mail wasn't directly addressed to me, but I
wanted to follow up anyway, to point out that we CollabNet employees
have begun reducing the number of users@ questions we answer (not just
in percentage, but in absolute terms). The same is probably true of
all the Subversion developers, not just the few who work for
CollabNet.

The Subversion user base grows at a faster rate than its developer
base, so obviously it wouldn't scale for the developers to continue
providing tech support. More and more, users are providing support
for other users. Which, I think, is part of what Brian was getting at
when he wrote "healthy ecosystem".

The developers will never drop completely out of contact with the
users@ list, of course. But we're slowly coming up with filtering
techniques, so we see the bug reports and the tough questions, without
spending time on stuff that experienced users know as well as we do.
