DB problem

We recently switched over to subversion, and everything was working
great until this morning when commits and updates began to fail from
multiple machines in our office.

I've run svnadmin recovery on the repository and it completes. If I
then attempt a commit or update, the command still fails. Running
svnadmin verify on the repository yields this:

svn: No such string 'il'

Through google, I've seen various posts where an attempt was made to
fix a similar problem. The fix seemed to be a special case for that
person. Is there a general way to fix it?

Installation Details:
OS X (10.3.7)
Subversion 1.1.2
Berkeley DB 4.3.27
Apache 2.0.52
swig 1.3.21

Thanks,

mark
