how to undo an "svn add"?

sorry, i really should know how to do this, but i just "svn add"ed a
sizable directory, only to notice that there were some libraries that
should have been cleaned out before i did the add.

i know i can commit this, then remove the offending libs, but i'd
rather just make this a single commit. how do i undo the addition of
that directory, so i can clean and re-add?

i tried variations on "svn revert" but i can't seem to find the
incantation. thanks.
