A former SVN developer has also been working on VSTS for the last
couple of years. In fact, he had to quit SVN development because it
was conflict of interest.

Previews are coming out next week; we'll learn more about this product
soon, I think. The former SVN developer was very much into repository
db schemas; I wonder if any SVN ideas will make it into this MS
product. :-)
