$CVSROOT tricks?

From: Glenn E. Sieb <ges_at_cibernet.com>

I know users can put nifty things in ~/.subversion/* files.. but they
still have to type:

svn command url://server/path/to/repos

In CVS, there was a nifty $CVSROOT variable you could set so you could
just do things like:

cvs command

and you wouldn't have to keep typing the repository out... does svn have
something similar?

Sorry if this is a n00b question--but I've been reading the book and
surfing the web looking for this answer... :-/

Thanks, in advance!

Best,
Glenn
