undefined svn: property warnings

I just did a couple searches of the tracking database and saw nothing
related to this.. and the list archive remains unsearchable beyond
2003.. so my apologies if this has been covered.

I'm wondering if anyone else would find it beneficial to be given a
warning if they try to set an svn: property that doesn't exist.

For example, I just spent a half hour trying to track down what
appeared to be a bug with svn:executable, only to eventually discover
that my user had actually set "svn:excutable". It would have been
helpful if the user had been given a warning that he was setting an
undefined, reserved property (where "reserved property" is any property
name beginning with "svn:").

Does this seem like a bad idea to anyone?
